Morrisonite can be found in the Owyhee Canyon in Eastern Oregon. It is named after James Morison (not to be confused with the Doors’ frontman), who owned a ranch in the area and is believed to have discovered the semi-precision gem. It is a lovely jasper known for its pastel nodules of creme, pink, blues and green.
